Trophy Wife is described by Essie as "a perfect deep teal with pearl". I have to agree, this colour is very vivid and looks absolutely gorgeous on the nails. Even though in the bottle it looks very pigmented, when the first coat was applied it was very sheer and a bit streaky! However, after a total of 3 coats the colour payoff is outstanding. Even though Essie describe this as having a pearl finish I would say it was more on the frost/metallic side. Because of the finish, some brushstrokes are noticeable, but their not bold and in your face. Just take your time when applying to help minimise their appearance.
Overall this is a perfect teal shade that looks stunning on the nails.
